 Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub is an American actress, comedian and activist. Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents She began her career as a child performer shortly after immigrating to the United States. Her appearances as Lily Adams in AT&T TV commercials between 2013 and 2016 - and now in 2020 - have has made her famous. In addition to her commercial appearances, she also appeared as a series regular on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction show Other Space (2015). Additionally, she was regular on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). Vayntrub has also voiced Squirrel Girl in the Marvel Rising franchise since 2018 after being selected to play Squirrel Girl in the unaired television pilot for New Warriors. Vayntrub was born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, and is Jewish. Her parents, who were two years old, immigrated to America as refugees from antisemitism. They moved to West Hollywood. Due to financial difficulties within the family, she started performing in Mattel Barbie commercials when she was just five years old. Vayntrub briefly studied at Beverly Hills High School. In her sophomore year she dropped out and got a GED. She continued to get the Bachelor of Arts Communication degree from the University of California San Diego. She was a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, and was a student of improv comedy.
